Valley Professionals Community Health Center (formally Vermillion-Parke CHC) has been providing comprehensive primary and behavioral healthcare to individuals and families in the surrounding communities and rural areas since its inception over 6 years ago. It has grown substantially to meet the needs of its residents in Vermillion and Parke Counties and surrounding areas, with offices in Clinton, Cayuga, Bloomingdale, and 14 different school locations. VPCHC serves our community’s medically underserved and uninsured residents, and has implemented appropriate systems and services to meet the needs of the community. This growing organization has provided a comprehensive array of primary and preventative services to adults, children, and families, as well as, behavioral health services to residents of our surrounding communities. As it continues to grow to meet the community’s needs, Valley Professionals is looking for a President and CEO to work closely with a highly dedicated Board and staff to maintain “state of the art” services while implementing its long-term strategic plan.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to build on a wonderful foundation of existing high quality, integrated care in its three health center sites and local school systems throughout the Greater Clinton community. VPCHC is a $5m+ Federally Qualified Health Center, and is made up of a group of highly dedicated and skilled providers and staff, a supportive Board & community committed to the provision of care to the community’s most needy and vulnerable. In the past year, VPCHC served over 7600 different patients with 30,000 visits throughout its multiple sites, and has received recognition as an NCQA Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home.

Ideal candidates should: 

  • be mission driven and passionate about ensuring that quality health care is provided to allpeople in need; must be passionate about providing quality care 
  • have a strong business and entrepreneurial capability 
  • have a strong record of working closely with providers, staff, community hospitals and other community partners; have a strong record of recruitment and retention of providers and staff
  • have experience with diverse funding streams & a history of developing new and creative ways to bring revenue into a mission-driven organization
  • have a track record of being both a visionary and strategic leader 
  • must have excellent people skills; be a motivator; effective as a change agent
  • experience at working with a model of health care integration; commitment to a philosophy of mind, body, and spirit
  • be able to inspire and motivate others in the creation and development of innovative ways to care for people in need of service 
  • have a reputation for honesty, integrity & credibility; must possess excellent diplomatic skills 
  • possess strong management skills, have a solid understanding of operations, be decisive, and be a consensus builder; and, as the “face of the organization”, have a real “presence” with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • possess a solid understanding of regulatory, financing, and compliance requirements of FQHCs
  • be effective as an advocate with an understanding of health reform; a track record of success with elected officials and regulatory agencies
  • be experienced with EHRs; comfortable with the use of technology as an important management tool; be analytic, and appreciate the importance of metrics
  • have a commitment to staff development; experience in leading a “learning organization”
  • have a minimum of eight years of management experience in a health care setting, 5 of which should be in senior leadership positions. Master’s degree with health care focus a plus.
