What are Televisits?
A televisit is when your healthcare provider uses technology to care for you through a secure internet connection without you having to travel to their office. During your televisit, you and your healthcare provider will see and talk with each other using a computer or smart device (smartphone or computer). Your healthcare provider will be able to check how you’re doing, diagnose any problems you have, and come up with a treatment plan for you all by video. Your video won’t be recorded or saved.
How do I start?
You will need an email address to start. Give this to your provider’s office to help set you up. From there you can use the Healow app - Android or iPhone (on your phone or tablet) or healow.com on your laptop or desktop computer. Having trouble getting started? What equipment do I need?
Ideally, a smart phone or a laptop with video and audio capabilities are best.
Does my insurance cover this?
Most insurances cover this service, especially at this time (Spring 2020). If there are any issues with coverage, please contact our billing department.
Who decides whether or not to provide services via televisits?
The health care provider determines if a benefit or service is clinically appropriate to be provided, subject to consent by the patient.
