Pound began serving as a board member for VPCHC in 2007, engaged in community benefit, before the health center even opened its doors to begin seeing patients in February 2008. From the beginning, she has been a community leader and supporter of the health center’s mission and effort to provide care to communities that need it most.

Elizabeth Burrows, health center CEO, expressed her gratitude of Pound’s service on the board. “Janie has been a dedicated founding board member. Her time, commitment, and passion for the health center have allowed us to grow and serve thousands of patients in Parke and Vermillion counties. I am proud to have worked with her over the past six years to establish our healthcare services.”

During her time as a board member, Pound has served on various committees and worked with VPCHC staff to improve the quality of health care in the area. In addition, she has attended many VPCHC community events to help share information about the health center and its services.
