October is National Chiropractic Health Month

National Chiropractic Health Month is a nationwide observance held each October. The event helps to raise public awareness of the importance of musculoskeletal health and the benefits of chiropractic care and its natural, whole-person, patient-centered, and drug-free approach to health and wellness.

Valley Professionals is proud to offer pain relief to our patients through chiropractic services at our Clinton location. Patients can be referred to chiropractic services by their primary care provider.

Meet Dr. Dion Snider. Dr. Snider is a graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic. His professional background includes being a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, a Certified Medical Examiner, a member of the American Academy of Hospital Chiropractors, and an Indiana Licensed Acupuncturist. He considers himself blessed to have treated thousands of patients in the past, given well over half a million chiropractic adjustments, and has been a Chiropractic Management Consultant for dozens of Chiropractors across the US.

For National Chiropractic Health Month, we interviewed Dr. Snider regarding chiropractic services and how this can benefit Valley Professionals patients. Check out the Q&A below:

What all can chiropractic help with?

When one thinks of Chiropractic, they think of treatment for back pain. It’s no wonder because they have such high satisfaction rates with back pain. However, it’s much more than that. Misalignments of the spine can cause functional, structural, and emotional problems leading to many different symptoms. These issues can be effectively treated through chiropractic management. Some of the more common issues addressed include disc bulges, sciatica, headaches, carpal tunnel, anxiety, and stress.

What can I expect from my first visit?

I always do a consultation and a complete examination then take the time to review or order diagnostic studies.  I find out the root of the problem and then work with the patient’s primary care physician to implement the best collaborative treatment. I have chosen to work at Valley Professionals because of working closely with the patient’s PCP, never before has there been such complete integration.

Why choose chiropractic for pain management/whole body medicine?

Chiropractors have high satisfaction and high effectiveness in resolving patients’ pain because their profession chooses not to prescribe medications, this allows them to focus on techniques that allow patients to get back to normal without the unnecessary side-effects and dependency of drugs.

How does a patient go about setting up a chiropractic appointment at Valley Professionals?

Anyone can schedule a chiropractic appointment by referral from their Valley Professionals primary care physician.  While I will have direct access to patients, the choice to only accept patients through primary care referral is to add to the complete care of the patient.
